Sacramento River Delta Grown Agri-tourism Association
Amount: One scholarship of $500 each
Eligibility: Any high school senior who graduates from Delta High School in Clarksburg or Rio Vista High School in Rio Vista or reside or live near one of the river delta towns of Clarksburg, Courtland, Hood, Isleton, Rio Vista, Ryde, or Walnut Grove and attend high school elsewhere. The student must be attending, with minimum of twelve academic units, a two or four year accredited college or university majoring in agriculture or an agricultural-related field.
Application Packet: Your application packet needs to include the following items:
- Application form
- A one-page typed personal essay (see below for details)
- Un-official high school transcript
- Three (3) sealed letters of recommendation (relatives cannot be considered)
If for some reason any of these items cannot be sent in with your application, but are postmarked by April 1, they will automatically be included in your application packet for consideration. Any items of your application packet that are postmarked after April 1 will not be considered.
Personal Essay: A one-page typed essay explaining the applicant’s interest in agriculture and career goals must also be submitted. Essay should include your involvement and responsibilities in extracurricular activities and honors or awards received.
Interview: A group of finalists will be selected and contacted for interviews in April/May.
Criteria/Notification: Applicants will be scored on the following criteria: agricultural involvement, leadership skills, career goals, scholastic achievement, and a personal interview. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than June 1st.
Application deadline: All information requested in the application packet must be postmarked or delivered by the April 1st deadline. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered. Scholarship applications can be submitted in one packet to their high school counselor at Delta/ Rio Vista High Schools, or mailed directly to:

Scholarship Payment: Scholarships will be issued to the recipients upon SRDGAA receiving a copy of the recipient’s class schedule. This schedule must confirm an agricultural-related major and a minimum of 12 units in the first semester or quarter. Money must be used within one year from time it was awarded in May.
